PRASA GSM-R / FRMCS Design, Build & Maintenance Project

This project aims to construct digital wireless communication systems for railway lines connecting South Africa’s major cities, including Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria, and Johannesburg. The project will incorporate the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) based on LTE and 5G technologies.

PRASA PTCS Signalling Project KwaZulu-Natal

This project involves the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of a Train Control System (ETCS-Level 2) in the KwaZulu-Natal region. It will also include the implementation of the European Train Control System (ETCS L2).

  • Implementation of a new interlocking system
  • Centralised Traffic Control (CTC)
  • Civil works and Perway (Permanent Way)
  • Overhead Track Equipment (OHTE)
  • Associated civil, track, electrical, and telecommunications works

PRASA Substation Projects

 

  • Reconstruction of 3kV DC Traction and AC Distribution Substations between Langlaagte Train Station and Maraisburg Traction Substation.
  • Refurbishment of 3kV DC Traction and Distribution Equipment the Substations between Naledi and New Canada for Metrorail Gauteng Region.
  • Refurbishment of 3kV DC Traction Substations in the Gauteng North Region (Mabopane).
  • Supply, Delivery, and Installation of DC High-Speed Circuit Breakers at the Diep River Traction Substation.
