CLIENT: Transnet SOC, PRASA
SCOPE OF WORK: Rail way
Completed Projects
Our Track Record – Completed Projects
Maziya General Services (Pty) Ltd has successfully completed a portfolio of mechanised Permanent Way (PERWAY) construction, maintenance, and signalling-interface projects within live railway environments. Our completed works demonstrate proven capability in turnout replacement, track maintenance, formation rehabilitation, drainage works, ballast tamping, ballast regulation, rail welding, and PERWAY works aligned to re-signalling programmes.
The projects below reflect formally completed and accepted works delivered for national rail authorities across South Africa
Countrywide Turnout Replacement Programme
Client: Transnet SOC Ltd
Scope of Work:
- Mechanised removal and replacement of existing turnouts and track panels
- Bulk earthworks and formation rehabilitation within turnout zones
- Drainage improvements to mitigate water-related failures
- Installation of new ballast and track components
- Certified rail welding (alumino-thermic), grinding, and profiling
- Mechanised tamping, ballast regulation, and final geometry correction
Mechanised Track Maintenance Using Ballast Tamping Machines
Client: Transnet SOC Ltd
Scope of Work:
- Track lifting, lining, and levelling using on-track tamping machinery
- Correction of geometry defects (line, level, gauge, cross-level, and twist)
- Ballast compaction beneath sleepers
- Post-tamping geometry verification and compliance reporting
Ballast Regulation and Track Profiling Works
Client: Transnet SOC Ltd
Scope of Work:
- Ballast profiling and redistribution within crib and shoulders
- Shoulder shaping for lateral track stability
- Removal of excess ballast from sleepers, rails, and fastenings
- Restoration of ballast profile to improve drainage performance
Formation Rehabilitation and Drainage Works
Client: Transnet SOC Ltd
Scope of Work:
- Excavation and removal of fouled or unsuitable formation materials
- Reconstruction of formation layers to specified standards
- Construction and rehabilitation of surface and sub-surface drainage systems
- Compaction and in-situ quality control testing
